Hello, my name is Patrick Abrahamsen. I am a senior at Dickinson College, a new intern at Central PA Winery and Brewery Tours, and will be updating this blog on a weekly basis. This first blog post is outlining some of the stops guests will get to experience when they visit the Carlisle winery and brewery tour.
To begin the Carlisle Tour, guests will visit the Castlerigg Wine Shop in Central Carlisle. Here you will find wines produced from Seven Mountains Wine Cellars and The Vineyard at Grandview, both of these wineries located in Central PA. Castlerigg offers an assortment of wines including dry reds and whites, sweet wines, and premium wines. Customers of Castlerigg rave about the intelligent wait staff, the historic ambiance of the building itself, and how well the wines are paired with the appetizers on the menu. Overall, customers here will receive a great introduction into the tastes and types of wines produced right here, in Central PA.
At Market Cross Pub and Brewery tourists visit an authentic English pub. Just on draft customers have options including a variety of beverages prepared in-house. Or you can order a flight, and taste your choice of up to four different beers. Not only does Market Cross offer five beers from their own breweries, but you can also choose a cider, ale, draught, lager, or IPA. All of these are enjoyed to wash down whichever English-style food you’d care to eat.
