Another stop along the Adams County and Gettysburg tour is Adams County Winery.  On this stop guests will visit the farm winery located in the mountains near Gettysburg.  In the beautiful scenery, one can see where the grapes are grown to create the wonderful wine tasted here.  This Winery specializes in sweeter, fruitier,red wines such as their home made Turning Point, and Cabernet Sauvignon.  For drier wines they feature a dry red called Ember Evenings and a white Chardonnay named Traveler.  Guests describe the atmosphere as ‘fun’ and “laid back”.  Adams County Winery provides beautiful scenery and a relaxing atmosphere to taste delicious wines.

Battlefield Brew Works is established right outside of Gettysburg.  Located in a restored historic barn Brew Works brews their own beer for purchase right on site.  Customer reviews favor the Lincoln Lager on cask, Imperial Pumpkin Ball, and the Oktoberfest for their fresh and original flavors.  You can try all of these beers if you order a flight.  Most of their beers are light beers brewed right here in PA.  Diners can also order food off their menu that go great with the home-brewed stouts.  Battlefield Brew Works is a great way to taste beers and take in beautiful Pennsylvania views in a rustic setting.

The last entry on the Carlisle Tour is about Desperate Times Brewery.  This brewery and bar just opened in November and is an excellent edition to Carlisle’s beer and wine scene.  Although it is only recently open the reviews exalt the brewery for its excellent local brews and friendly atmosphere.  Two of the customers’ favorite beers are the Kinky Thompson Pale Ale which is a nice lighter beer that goes great with their amazing pretzels!  The other favorite seems to be Desperate Measures IPA which has a great, bold flavor.  We can’t wait to introduce you to one of Carlisle’s new favorite spots, the Desperate Times Brewery.
